I'm hoping to hit my fav Kawartha lake Thursday night for the last time this year. Anyone living out that way know if the lakes are skimmed over? I'd hate to get up there at night only to find out I can't fish....thanks in advance for any intel.

Scugog was skimmed over as far as the eye could see. I would imagine most of the other lakes would be similar

Daamn, thanks for the update. Hopefully there's enough wind to prevent it from locking right up. I always try to fish right up to the walleye closer but it's not looking good this year.

Looks like you should be ok as long as your favourite spot isn't Scugog or the south end of Sturgeon. There are still some angling opportunities in the Kawartha's for the adventurous.

There's skim ice on the south end of Buckhorn. Way too early for this! My minnow bucket is frozen in it.

Not until this Friday at 11:59pm in Zone 17. Unless by closed you mean "shut down by the weather"...

most of the lakes in shallow and narrow sections have ice. The boat ramp is closed in Lindsay. and the one near Chemong might be blocked from the construction now.

Buddy that lives on Balsam said it skimmed over last night. Whatever happens there will be current areas open on Thursday. Good luck if you make it out. I was going to give it one more go for the closer but -13 friday night has me reconsidering

Thanks for the update man. It's kind of a tradition of mine to go up there on the last day, but that forecast for tomorrow night got me thinking about tonight instead 😂

So I went to my fav spot on Thurs and Friday night. I went 4/6 Thursday (kept two), and caught 3 more last night.

It was a great ending to my 2019 Walleye Season. Thanks for the "ice reports" guys. Good luck on the hardwater this year!
