With heavy rain in the forecast on next Monday Tuesday, follow by 3 very cold days which can make great amount of good ice. Should be ready soon I guess.
Fingers crossed.

I watched a man go through two years ago cause he got too excited I checked ice it was unsafe so I turned around , he walked past me on his way out and I watched him go in. Give it time don't kill yourself for a ccrappie

Thanks for your advice. I normally will wait a bit longer to make sure it's safe. Not ready to test the icy water yet.

A good feed if crappie sounds good, let’s hope after this warm wet spell ends , things will tighten up ASAP.
Be smart...be safe !
Cheers

Hey folks,

I have had a cottage on scugog for many years off washburn. Never have I ice fished this lake for many reasons but this year I figured I would give it a shot as a few of my platoon partners are looking for a boys trip just to have some fun.

I was hoping maybe someone would be interested in giving some information on average depth people are looking at for crappie in the winter?

I have a few spots that I marked for this year for a little trial and error runs around 6-10 feet near the cottage.

Any help would be much appreciated! PMS are welcome
