Great day on the Backlake catching Brook Trout in Northern Ontario Sudbury.
Boy was it a couple hard hours on the lake trying to dial them in i started fishing the 10 feet of water with a 3/8 oz weight trolling then switched to a 3/4 oz to try deeper with no bites i then though these fish are going to be suspended in the middle of the lake and Bang fish were on fire came home with my limit of 5 just shortly after lunch.

Nice catch there Curt!!! Great video and you are definitely dialed in. A little persistence paid off big time and you got rewarded with your limit.

Great video Curt… really enjoyed it. “I’m gonna have a nice dinner”…. Love it

The same thing happens in a speckled lake I often fish, it has 50 feet max depth, and when I can’t find any action in the usual spots near shore, trolling structure, I’ve learned through experience to do as you did. Troll out in the main basin above 30-50 feet of water and often times, that’s where the fish are.

I’ll be checking out my sports-pal to see if I can adapt and raise the seats up above the gunnels as you’ve done…looks way better than the factory ones which are too low on my 14’ flat back.

I love the seats i have on my sportspal my friend’s dad made them for me it makes the canoe so comfortable to fish out of.

Lovely report. Totally back lake, I am so jealous. The only way I can get is such areas is lots of paddling and portaging.

I like your phrase in the video. You said. " If you put in the time, you will find the fish." Absolutely... Totally... Correct. Great video.

I made it myself out of aluminum. It is strong enough also to carry my 12 foot boat also.
