This was last weekend, I was gonna post earlier but got busy and forgot all about doing it.
The last time I was in the boat was late October for bass, and the boat’s been ready to go for over a month with the “early ice out”, but the world decided against us getting out
I finally found an open ramp close to home, so my son and I took off for some lakers.
It was a beauty of a day, boat ran like a champ, and we did pretty good for the first time out this year.
Trolling jerkbaits behind planer boards, we managed three nice sized lakers and about 10 big oos smallies that were just moving up from the depths and mixed in with the trout on the shallow flats. First fish of the year was a double header for us, a pair of twins around 3lbs or so, we kept those two for dinner, and let another one about 6lbs go.
Didn’t get out this weekend, due to the cold temps and other stuff to do, but hopefully next weekend we can get back out and continue the good start to the season.
