A group of us are coming up the weekend of the 8th. and I was wondering if do most people that rent a ice hut stay in and around it to fish or do most people move around and come back to the hut to eat and sleep. My thought is if the fish are moving, why not me too.

In my experience moving around doesn’t hurt one bit. Some places have day huts and some don’t. Our group moved around within probably 100 meters or so of the bungalow and found a difference of 5 feet shallower made a world of difference. Could be a noise issue as well. We had a 300lbs gorilla with us who can’t close a door or move a chair without creating a big loud bang in the bungalow. Inside we did better than okay, outside we did great.
