Some times it is nice to just get out by yourself and I decided today was the day. Had people that I could have asked but didn't.

Been a really strange year so far for me and a lot of others jigging. I got 4 jigging but had at least 4 more on to just loose them half way up and the ones I got in the net all fell off. So switched to trolling worm harnesses, got one as soon as I hit bottom, then lost another almost as quick, then got stuck and lost all my gear so pulled the plug and left just after noon. 20" and 2 at 18" or very close

How heavy is your trolling weight sabmgb? I tried trolling there once and I broke everything off quick. I thing I was using 2.5 oz.
I find I snag/break off more often on ST Clair jigging too compared to Detroit.

Very nice walleye, enjoy your dinner. Only four more days for us in zone 17. Can't wait to eat some fresh Kawartha walleye.

centerspin, I like to use 3oz or more when trolling SCR but I forgot my bottom bouncers and just had 1 in boat and one on the trolling rod and I think it was a 2 or 2.5oz. There are definitely snags there, but find that if you are just on the bottom it not so bad. If you are dragging bottom with more line then you need out than you get stuck more often at least that what I think. For jigging I find both rivers about the same get odd snag but not a lot. I probably depends on what part of the river you are fishing or the depth

Thank you for your reply, I think I was definitely using too light weight. Still prefer jigging to trolling there;).

Hey Steve

Nice catch.

I know what you mean about solo trips. Over the years I made a lot of solo trips on the water and on the ice. Some days you just want to be on your own and enjoy the solitude and not have someone nattering about this that or the other.

On the other hand, I'm now 81 and last year when I turned 80 I promised my wife no more solo trips as you just never know what might happen.
