Was out February 3-5 with atv. Was lots of snow drifts was difficult to get the gear out and back. What’s the surface like now after the past week of warm weather and rain ?

Are the trails ok for travel by sled? I imagine lots of slush once off the trails. In particular, I am looking at crossing the lake from Sturgeon Falls and travelling to the mouth of the French. Usually, there is a well used trail.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Week and a half ago i was getting anywhere from 11 inches to 20 inches. Bottom 7 or 8 was black on all holes with balance being white. Would not expect any meaningful change since than.

This was along the south shore anywhere from 10 to 20 km from Fish Bay.

Good information.. thank you. So then walking out from most of the shoreline shouldn't be a problem correct? Just want to be super cautious since it's my first outing on Lake Nipissing.
