Yesterday around 5PM I noticed an owl hanging out at the back of our house and managed to get a picture of him/her.

It flew away after about an hour and I figured that was it.

When I got up this morning it was sitting on the railing of our back deck, but flew away before I could get a picture.

It came back a short while ago and has been patiently sitting in a tree at the back. I was able to get the binocs on it and determined it is a "barred owl".

Needless to say, no birds at my feeders while it has been hanging around.

Nice to see.

First pic is last evening, second is today.

Very nice Ralph, I spooked a barred owl last week. We went for a hike near Shelbourne saw a the Barred Owl, a large Doe and for the first time ever in this area a mature Bald Eagle. Of course my old Samsung is as delayed in taking photo's as I am challenged.

Nice photo .

Threw some fish scrapes out back here. Wife and I were having coffee this morning watching a bald eagle picking at it .
