Unless I've gone off my meds I just found out about this. $10 to launch and $10 per hour to park, max $50 per day at the Harbour.
Go to page 12 D2 launch...$10
Go to page 21 G1 parking at the bottom
Park and Launch
This is from Mar 2022

Hi Eric

How sure are you of your info.?

I see different rates on different Town of Collingwood sites.

I like the one that says $9.00 launch/park fee and as a non-resident, I can buy a seasons launch/park pass for $65.00.

It was someone else that told me, it seems pretty recent being Mar 2022. I sure hope not, I may call tomorrow to make sure.

Just called and it is a fact, 10 to launch and up to 50 to park. They can kiss my exhaust pipe.

I just called and spoke to Paul the harbourmaster.

You are right about the fees, but they don't kick in until May 21st.

Some people are going to have a seizure when they find out about that. Pretty much a $100 day when you add in the gas for the boat and tow vehicle.

Not happy to hear about this fee increase at all.

Thanks for looking into it, SDC & Eric.

And we thought our lakes were free to use....haha. How freaking unbelievable. Very upsetting.

Haven't they figured out how many $$$ are brought into the various local economies thru the fishing industry?
Long term, not a wise decision, as precious tourist dollars will be lost to the towns who do this. Imagine, all this for the sake of grabbing a few extra $$ from fisherman at loading docks.
Very short sighted.... IMHO.

Cheers,

Well, why not suck every last cent out of the pockets of the poor little boat fisherman.
$60.00 for Launch and Park
$60.00 for vehicle fuel
$20.00 boat fuel
$130.00 with no guarentee of catching fish

Yes, good bye Collingwood, what a shame, we always really looked forward to going out on the water,Paul the harbour master amazing guy to talk with, having a great sit down lunch or dinner at Kelsys, always stopped in to see John and buy something I didn't need at the HappiHookah and Collingwood always had a well stocked LCBO. Sad day for the little guy like me that don't have the privilege of water front. Sad Sad Day!

Well, I checked things out and we can still launch boats and park for reasonable fees at Wasaga Beach Provincial Park and Meaford.

Collingwood has screwed themselves out of my money. It is going elsewhere.

I put up a post on the Facebook page of Rick's Happi Hookah, the tackle store in Collingwood and believe me. he is not a happy camper. Over the years, I have spent a fair bit of money in Collingwood at Rick's and other places, when I have gone to fish. Won't be happening any more.

I haven't done it yet, but I will be sending an e-mail to the Acting Mayor to let him know what I think of the unreasonable and short sighted actions of Council.

If you feel like sending something, here is the e-mail address:
Keith Hull, Acting Mayor, khull@collingwood.ca

One of the things I'm wondering about, where will the Collingwood Charter Boat customers park?
Have they been screwed the same as Rick?

Could anyone with the knowledge organize a petition for that?
Not everyone can find time and proper words for email, but signing a petition is much easier. We can then point out the petition to the mayor and city council and it may have a much greater impact.
