Something I would love to get into with the Kayak but don't know where to start.
Arnie
You want the find the lakes close to the road ways that are stocked with brookies unless you have a ATV to access the lakes that are more remote
Thank you Sparky....I have a ATV but the kayak is a Hobie 14....and no way to transport it on the ATV right now. I would have to opt for lakes close to the road and launch from there with landing gear wheels. Thank you for the tip and yes look for stocked lakes.....a good place to start the search.

Thx for the info/warning everyone....I am 73 so there will be no portaging so will have to find some lakes with roads close by. When younger I would have enjoyed the challenge. Thx Curt and company.
I can still remember dragging my 12 ft tinny across the mud flats of Lake Eugenia in waders......lmao.....looking for specks....I was about 16 any that time......sux getting older.

A lake trout harvested a few springs ago, I’ll always remember this one for how it tasted. To this day still one of the best tasting fish I’ve ever had:

Thanks for the link to the trip log Arnie, will definitely give it a read. I hope you’re able to get into some brook trout- age is just a number!
Age used to be a number but I have had two heart attacks and still push the limit but reading this guys log I definitely know that portaging is past that limit so will launch near a stocked lake from a roadway....the search is on.
