Does anyone know if the Kon-Tiki marine offer parking? They have a big lot. And they're closer to the lake so if you're going to pay to park I think they would be a good bet.
they should open in winter and charge for parking reasonable fee $10 not the insane $35 a day for the Gilford lot.

I guess I will be fishing elsewhere. Local shops will take a hit if more ppl like me decide not to fish in the area. I don’t mind paying for parking but $35 for the day was to much. An this may rise more this year.

I’ve never been up but am planning for first ice this season....is Gilford the only area to park n get on the ice? No marina parking or anything on the opposite side of the bay?

No you can park at Innisfil beach paid parking and walk out from there. Because of a few A** holes they ruined it for the rest the of us for leaving their garbage behind and blocking driveways the residents had enough and had the city put no parking on the street. You can't blame them but it sucks for us anglers..

I will head to the deep water ground for my laker and whitefish, then:-)
not everyone wants to eat greasers and old boots. Perch taste better hands down.
Well, I am not looking for lakers/whitefish just for food. I do think though hooking/fighting/landing a laker/whitefish is more... than getting a perch.
But yes, I do fully agree with you that as far as table fair is concerned, perch tastes 100 times better than a laker or whitefish. No question about that period.

Once you pay for parking, propane, minnows, It would probably be cheaper to just rent a hut and let the hut operator deal with the parking issue. Im sure they,ll figure something out for there customers.

Assuming there are fish under the holes in the hut where you sit all day long, that is:-)

Good luck to them, the access and parking just killed them imo.

The writing was on the wall! Big new homes, very busy during hard water, tons of people coming and going (lots of garbage left behind in many cases)....etc We bring no money to the town in a way a local would. So really, who will the city listen to? Us or the locals who are complaining? Only makes sense to listen to the tax payers! The question still remains though, where in the heck am I going to park or do I pay the $35 which is insane IMO!!!! Another era is closes and a new one begins! Sucks but its true. Access to water in southern Ontario is becoming more and more difficult to find each year and it will only get worse as new developments get built. Life goes on.... will have to look north a bit for street parking I guess. Or as suggested, skip it all and go with an outfitter tight lines anyhow and stay safe on that ice!!!!!
