I was in Minden area and drove by a bunch of lakes, heres the ones I saw for ice:
-Mountain Lake, mostly open water, what ice was there looked thin -Twelve Mile, same thing, lots of open water and looked like very thin ice (nobody on either lake) -Boshkong, wide open, bring a boat.
I was on a small back lake and tyhe ice was mostly white ice (not good) and was a lot of water/slush on top. Its definitely not the safest conditions.

#### lake has been stake for snowmobile crossing I was advise good 12" of ice
##### lake has some huts out most of the smaller lakes are good for ice fishing remember always be safe and check ice condition as you go
Sorry, naming small lakes is not permitted by the Forum Rules.
People should obviously trust their own judgement, but I live and fish here and your report sounds far more positive than what I'm seeing with my own eyes. Most of the smaller lakes had closer to 6" at best before this hammering of rain and high temps. Yes, some stakes went up but there's no way I would be riding lakes this weekend, but that's just me.

My advice is to stay off all lakes this weekend, heavy rain causes drain holes anywhere on the ice, if you don't see and wrong step you're swimming. Rain will get rid of the crusty white stuff.

Was out at Miners Bay (Gull) last weekend and North Gull (by Deep Bay) this weekend. Managed to catch a few lakers in both instances, nothing huge but steady marking and kept a few to eat. Ice was 5" at Miners and 6" in the north area of gull (clear ice, there was inches of slush).
