Can anyone advise the fishing and deer hunting situation on the upper sturgeon between sturgeon falls and the field area? If all goes well it’s looking like 100 acres of property with riverfront is going to join the family. I’m more concerned about the fishing than the deer as I hunt near home in 82a but it’s nice to have some idea. I’m interested in species in the upper river. Fortunately a short drive to Nippissing if the fishin is no hell in the river. Thanks for your input.

Not good deer country. It's moose and ruffed grouse country though. The upper river contains smallies and walleye though the walleye aren't near as abundant as the smallies. Some stretches you may encounter the odd brook trout that has slipped in from a coldwater creek flowing in but they are quite rare.

Good luck finding your land.
My daughter and husband where looking for land for a year now . And just got some in Trout Creek.
Most of the land for sale there like 30 bids on it and lots dont even go to see it just want to buy it.
And driving the prices way up.
the one my daughter got was 100K over asking
but there is land just have to be fast
good luck

Thanks for the input. The deal was finalized shortly after the post was made. It was purchased at asking price, so not too bad. It closes end of May. Looking forward to giving the river a go.
