Once again we have been told the untrue! Mr. Ford said there would be 28 health units opening February 16th. He opened 27! With some advice from the most incompetent person in the north Dr. Chirico, we will be staying locked down. This is a man who closed our toboggan hills, skating rinks and ski -doo trails. He is definitely on a power trip. We have one case in the Hospital and i believe 24 ( changes daily) cases for about 130,000 people. Here is life so far this year. Pulled ice huts onto the lake. Was set up for January 1st. Was told we could not open so we canceled all of our clients . Wrong answer from our MP office! We could of opened! So we lost a week not a big deal. Ready to open for the second week. Was told only people from same household could stay in the ice hut. Once again not a great situation but definitely could be done. Then more good news, we are going into a full lock down January 13 at midnight for 14 days. We had to pull the people off the ice Wednesday even those staying until Thursday. Ok 14 days once again not the best situation but every body is in the same boat. So we canceled and rebooked our clients for the 14 days. Then and here it comes again your 14 days has been extended to 28 days. Alright it is what it is. Cara once again rebooked who she could and canceled the rest. I pulled all the condos off the ice as would be a challenge to maintain them for 4 weeks on the ice. Lock down is to be over February 11. Great we could be open for family day weekend. Here we go Mr. Ford announces sorry but we won't be opening until February 16. Wow another weekend lost. Again not great but at least we are zoning in on a date we can open. So listing to Mr. Ford again i start pulling our huts back out. All is still good 28 health units will be opening on the 16! Three days of set up with 6 huts left to go out BAM ! At 4 pm i hear that 27 health units can open. As the wind once again out of our sails, i retire to my chair a wake up this morning with a big head and some time on my hands to tell you all a story. So with six more huts on shore and 13 out on the ice we await the next news from our great leaders who have a boot on our throats and all still have a nice pay check coming in. Please don't quote me on my dates they could be off, but i think you get the idea. Cheers all and hope to see some of you this year and the rest in 2022.

A sad situation for sure. If they had put in more effort way back in the summer to keep from importing the disease with all the flights from around the world we would most likely be in better shape.

For sure. But this is what happens when being politically correct over rides health and safety.

WE WILL BE THERE MARCH 1-4 IF FORD ALLOWS IT, I feel for all the small businesses out there, this has been a terrible year, the fat cats continue to line their pockets while the mom and pops struggle to survive. There is nothing fair about how the lockdowns have disproportionately affected the most vulnerable.....its disgusting

Toronto, Peel, York and then North Bay. 3 regions that share a border and 1 that's over 4 HR drive away. Makes no sense at all why North Bay is linked with Toronto.

If it does open on the 22nd of feb. the least thing the Gov"t can do is to extend the season for ice fishing to March 31. Seems like this chrico guy thinks he is the most important person in North Bay
