Hey guys heading to Apisabigo lake on a fly on trip. Has anyone fished this lake? Just wondering what to expect as this is my first fly in trip. Thanks.

A couple of buddies have been to Apisabigo. One of them went back for a second crack, so it's good. Think his best eye was 29" both times. Lots of smaller eyes and pike as well. There is, or at least was, a boat cached at Malmo - you can carry a motor over the portage if you want a change of scenery.

If you really want a head start, subscribe to Mike Borgers site. He'll tell you everything you'd want to know, and even mark up a map with hot spots for you. There's probably no better guy to talk to when it comes to Ontario fly ins.

I'm flying out of Nakina to the Albany River next week. Exciting times lol.

Here's a map of Apisabigo from Adam Dempsey's site - good place to check in to make sure you haven't overlooked anything.

Flying by the seat of our pants lol. Heading to a camp that a friend of a friend just acquired. I think Nakina Air is taking us in. I'll definitely post a report when I get back. Hopefully with a Sturgeon and maybe a tank brooky or two lol.

Well the trip was pretty successful. Too many fish to keep track of , no monsters but tons of 16 to 20 inch walleye and lots of small pike. It rained 4 out of the 5 days we were there, most evenings it cleared up and the bite was good. Every day was a grind on the water but we toughed it out and it paid off. The conditions of the cabin were decent but Air Dale could have taken a few minutes to go over the place before taking off again. The 4 of us kept enough for a couple shore lunches and we all brought a limit home. The vast wilderness of the north was something to see from the sky, forest and lakes as far as the eye can see, it really waa spectacular.
