Did a family trip to Quebec this year to a remote lodge. It was approximately 2 hours in on a gravel logging road. They were the only lodge/cottages on the lake as they had exclusive hunting and fishing rights. Fishing was good, but the solitude and relaxation was even better. For the most part all we heard were the loons, wind and the waves. And that damn rooster at first light and throughout the day at times. My boys got their wi-fi fix at the lodge at night but for the most part stayed off their phones, which is what I wanted. No cell service.

We caught 32 walleye and 1 laker for our 6 night stay. Managed only a couple walleye in the mornings but about 1-1.5 hrs before sunset was prime time. 12 walleye came home (limit for 2 adults). Definitely do it again and I think I have them reeled in for next year, lol.

Looks like a great trip! Your boys are lucky to have a dad who understands the importance of having great experiences together.…you guys did well with the fishing too!

Cheers

Thanks for the kind words icedog.

I just hope that my kids pass along the fishing tradition/ respect for the outdoors to their kids.

Very nice, once you get the walleye dialled in you can get 32 in a night. You got the prime bite time down, sometimes they bite all day too. Good luck.
