I am confident the main lake has tons of ice but was wondering how it is holding after these past few warm days. Planning a solo perching tomorrow and would appreciate an update on JP, PB and CB.

Thanks,
Sam

Does anyone think the shore lines will hold up till the weekend?

It'll be fine for walkers with rubber boots.

If you're planning for a whole day of fishing, you may want to check the winds after 10:00am. With 44km winds and 60km gusts the rest of your day may not be too enjoyable.

I think the shore lines will hold up for the weekend but with a bunch of rain coming later next week that may be the end of them.

Went to JP an WB an the shoreline was good, a pressure crack in both places but passable OK, even saw ATVs crossing it. As for fish though, a skunkville, just a few dinks.

Good to hear about the ice at JP and WB. Sorry to hear about the skunk though. The three times that I fished out of WB for perch, we did pretty well - not much in the way of numbers but most of what bit and were landed were decent perch with about 16-25 kept per day between two people (the best being usually 12-13" and some 10s and 11s). But it was much earlier in the year and we were in deeper water (about 40'). How deep were you fishing in WB? If I get a chance to fish it one last time, I think I would want to avoid that depth LOL

Be careful. Those crazy winds predicted may open up the cracks.

Thanks in advance for a report - much appreciated this time of year.

Would love to bring my sled tbd the ice surface conditions. I have studs and scratchers and dry lube to get to the shore from the parking lot... my first year fishing with a sled so Iím still not sure if itís limits in these types of conditions. But itís sure better than doubling on a quad tomorrow morning

Report for Port Bolster Sat 23rd

Shoreline access was solid today thanks to the colder temps. Pressure crack 2k out was stable as well. Was quite windy in the am but didn't do any damage to the ice due to it being locked tight. Was cutting ~22 inches with the top few inches being soft/worn from the previous warmer days. Still a lot of solid ice underneath though.

Fishing side of things we got a good scoop of minnows from Casey's and fished from 7:30am-1pm in about 27ish feet of water 2.3kms out. Marked a lot of perch all day but couldn't get many to bite. Would have switched spots but didn't want to deal with the wind. Only managed one keeper between the two of us all day. Talked to another group of 3 who started fishing around the same time as us and they didn't have much luck either, only 1 keeper between them 3.

Thanks for the report! Same for me. Didnít want to move around due to wind and caught one small keeper. Lots of dinks! 😤
