We discuss this quite a bit and I am curious to know who would have gone out this past Monday

I am adding some screenshots of that forecast from 3 different sites

i watch the weather very closely and always look for specific things including the day before

let's see how this goes

The day before, Sunday also called for multiple t storms and rain at 100 %......

we got maybe some rain overnight, but the storm track kept splitting north and sout of the lake which often happens probably because of the escarpment

it was generally a south west track

so what to do , 20 people and 3 boats ready to go plus 30 steaks and fixings for a bbq after the outing.....also all kinds of sandwiches and other goodies for on the boat

Tough call, but safety first

I'd have gone, without a doubt. If the question is "how would I feel about hosting 20 people who may or may not be prepared for the weather?" - I'd be leery for sure.

If its hot, cold, or rainy in the forecast dress for it!

The most important forecast is the wind. Too windy = no go for me.

Yes safety first, definitely. That terrible wind that I fished for crappie all day in on April 15th was a good example of what not to do in bad weather. I was not in a boat though, but I told my friends that were supposed to bring their boats not to bother. Safety first, especially on the big lakes.

If the wind is over 15km/h, I just stay home because that means the waves on Ontario will be 3 footers+. Trolling motor keeps dipping out of the water, can't fish broadside to the waves.. not fun. And if there are thunderstorms, nope, nope, nope.

I fished this morning. At 6am it was really calm. At 10am there were 3-4 footers and rain so we called it. Tomorrow will be terrible as well.

Yep, winds are a factor for sure as is lightning

winds were not an issue that day, but t-storms were a factor

the marine forecast gave no weather warnings........i cannot go if they issue a warning

thanks for all the viewpoints so far.....interesting on how the approac is from different folks...but it's all good

some days are just more challenging than others and it depends where you fish on the lake

for instance in my area, today is for sure a go for the morning

I know exactly what I would do.

I would call a friend and go and make sure he caught his first 8” walleye. 😂😂😂
