After cancelling Saturday due to strong ne winds we headed out Sunday morning to some left over rollers but it was a nice day on the water

the shocker was , that it had been pushed down so temps were quite warm down to 80-95 feet and you had to find that...

I ran wire dipseys and braid as the fleas were not too bad, but there were some. also riggers of course and 1 10 color leadcore

once the right temp was found and current figured out we dropped gear and had our first salmon within minutes.

for next little while there were a lot of shots but no hookups....water was quite stained

when we got to some clearer stuff fish started hitting pretty much everything we had down there and we got a mixed bad of chinook, coho.....a reall nice one and some decent bows.

I noticed again that any rainbow past the 6 pound mark was full of gill lice,,,not good to see

the smaller ones were clean

best speed was 2.3

meat worked for earlier in the day and then the typicall late morning lull and then the spoons went pretty steady....we really hit a good bite period coming home from 11 to 12,30 with the dipseys out at 140 on a 3 setting and wire at 1 and 1/2 at 95 and 105. riggers at 68 and 80 fish were all over the place.confused I think as we did not mark that many but as stated they were there

no big tanks yesterday........17 or so was the biggest and we went 11 for 19....guys were new to this type of fishing so that happens

best lures were Brute, carbon 14 and NBK which have neen steady for past 2 weeks

Oh ya, I finally ran a freedom rig behind a flasher for 2 hours and not a sniff on it

get on out there , fishing is decent, mostly it's just fun

Great report Longshank.

It's funny how the south shore is completely the opposite of the north. The Saturday was fantastic. The winds were high, but since the waves were coming from the north shore, the waves were less than 1 foot. The fish were on fire.

Sunday? Holy crap, 3-6 foot waves.. hold on. Many people flat out cancelled the day. The one thing we both have in common is that Sunday the water temps were hot hot hot all over the place and no fish were being marked.

Wow look at the size of those filets. I have said this before...Wish my crappie filets were that big a couple would fill the BBQ on fish night.

Great detailed report. Always helpful information. And perfect filets, I guess I need more practice to look like that lol.

nd yes, that is the Hulk grampa........been a hot spoon this year

there's lots of time to still chase salon down my way as we have what Icall several fights heading up rivers, streams starting soon

the full moon, water temps and rains all help to get them going......with the lake temps at arounf 75 or so, it will be some time before they venture up and stay imo

but then the brown trout and steelhead and 2 and 3 year olds are there for some great action right into October

I'm heading to our cottage again for a while but will post an update on lake conditions when I get back
