I have a trip planned to the Good ole French, June 24th for a week. What’s everyone’s thoughts on if the border will be open by then, just trying to get some opinions if it will be open by then.
Also I usually go up early June and mainly target walleye, how is the walleye fishing toward the end of June beginning of July, I know they start moving out to the bay probably around this time, just trying to get an idea on what to expect for walleye. The bass and pike fishing is out of this world up there too so I am planning on doing some bass fishing As well!!!

I travel up from Texas, through the original homestead of Buffalo NY each year. We were supposed to hit the dock on the 26th of June - July 6th. The new border "closed until June 21st" designation has me feeling awfully uneasy.... I'm just crossing my fingers for now, and planning on driving instead of flying, to try to not bring a virus home to my parents who are in the susceptible population...
Man... it really pains me to potentially miss the trip of the year that I'm constantly thinking about. It's even had me looking into the few lakes down here in Texas that have walleye... it's not the same as sitting in my bay though. Gotta give some money to the marina too. Good people, doing good and valuable work.

Early July is pretty close....
While you may get a kick in the cajones this year its likely that it will make a good story sometime .. just not this year....bu tnext year as you crack a few open on the dock.
Think of this year as the year that you personally contributed to building the bass and pickerel stocks up in your home lake.
Stay well... I will be happy to shake your hand as you hit the water next year.

Unfortunately, the Ontario government extended the 'state of emergency' for the province...another 4 weeks...just a few days ago. As it stands now...the S of E has been extended to June 30th. I have no idea if the border closing and the declared S of E would be linked together by then...or viewed separate and independent of each other. The border closing, as it stands now, is June 21st as mentioned. But it would be hard for me to comprehend opening the border to Ontario...while the province is still under a State of Emergency...I could be wrong. Perhaps they'll reassess and change the State of Emergency declaration before June 30th?...but I wouldn't bank on it. Sorry guys...I have a fishing buddy in the US who's desperate to get north as well. And maybe the bigger concern isn't whether or when they open the border...but what quarantine protocols might be applied to any out of country visitors, when they cross. Sorry guys...wish I had better news for our American friends. Stay safe...we hope you're all back soon
