Show me one charter that is operating at this time? Fishing is for harvesting food through commercial fishing or farming not a recreational charter. Please don’t argue with me you fish and hunt to feed your family. If you do through necessity I would accept that but for 99.9% of us it is just to supplement our food. the sooner we all work together the sooner we get back out there.

So you or government mean that it's OK for business go fishing (like charters) but it is prohibited for personal? Does not make much sense...
We are talking apples and oranges here, imho.
Sport fishing is recreational fishing , not commercial . Go to the store and buy fish there if you eat fish (I eat fish as well by the way ) Allowing people to fish as recreational activity keeping 2 m distance apart is another story and I think should be allowed , but this has nothing to do with being Essential Business or not if you are not a Fishing charter or Commercial Fishery

Well, there are two points. First, if it is not required legally to prove that you hunt or fish for sustainability then it's OK to go. Second, as many people pointed out here, fishing is the most social distancing activity. When you go to the store to buy some food it is more likely you'll get infected or will infect someone than if you go fishing. My wife is sill working, interrupting with many people. She can easily bring the Cov into the house. For me, it is much better to go fishing than stay at home. Seriously. The thing is that the public launch is closed but Waterfront Promenade is still full of people. I saw a bunch of young people fishing from the pier, talking very closely. This is bad thing. But go single in your boat - what is the problem here?

Mark we should not need to prove anything. It’s about stepping up and doing what’s right. You just said your wife can infect your household and next you say what’s the big deal with going out in the boat? Nothing wrong with isolating in the boat but it’s about the what if’s. What happens if you require help and you are a carrier? What happens if you have an accident and require help? What happens if you sneeze or cough as a carrier at the boat ramp? Do you know how long that stays floating or how far it travels outdoors? You honestly don’t see any issues with possibly spreading a virus to someone that must respond if you are in distress because you were asked to only leave the home for necessary items. You don’t mind putting a first responders life in jeopardy or possibly their family or coworkers because you want to go fishing against the request of your government? Right now it is a request, soon because of people that don’t get it we will all be on total lockdown because people don’t get it. You sound like a little kid when you say well Jimmy has his boat out or people are standing close together on the pier fishing....just because they are going against our regulations it doesn’t mean you should. Stop being selfish and only thinking about yourself and remember what you do today will determine what happens to the rest of us tomorrow.

I really believe a 100% lockdown is coming very soon...
I think actually it should be done long time ago. My point was not to violate the rules, but to follow the rules and common sense. If the government does not enforce strict quarantine then - in my opinion - I could use the freedom allowed. But, yes, I believe, for the society sake, it should be very strict quarantine enforced while ago.

Well said Steve, I really want to get out, I even installed the buddy heater to keep the wife warm but the fact is I have come to my senses. There is just to much to risk for a fish. I've got food and everything else I need and going fishing was just for the fun of it. Perhaps my perspective has changed from the time I uncovered the boat. Now I am faced with my mother who lives in a retirement home indicating they have loss three people, one which was her friend and ate together each day at the same table. Or maybe it's my son a paramedic who is just coming out of self isolation, or our daughter in law a Doctors assisstant who has just gone into isolation. So for now I'm not going out, perhaps I'll just bindge watch episodes of swamp people, mountain men, yukons trappers, moonshiners or North woods law. Ive already been threatoned not to practice my turkey calls anymore. I can't tell you what to do, but for me I'm part of the solution
