Hey Dave, good to see you made it up to Marten River, I know you have a special love for fishing this area. Looks like you had some good luck and good company with you. Hope you enjoyed some good eats while you were up there

Looks like the search for eyes will have to wait for tomorrow as 70km to 90km winds today are going to stir things up pretty good if we indeed get those kinds of winds..

Great scenery and nice blue walleye

Thanks for the report, looks like you are having a great time..

Yup good day to stay inside and enjoy a few cold ones

Strong winds today in the city and heavy rains..

But nothing like Ottawa, they got hit with a tornado

Enjoy your time there...

Wow talk about a windy day, that was nuts... We lost power around 4pm and it didn't come back on till about 10 pm.. Happy it came back on as some thought it may take a day a day or two to be restored...

Got out today about around 11 and fished till 4pm.. We only caught 5 walleye between three people two of which were introduced to the fry pan for dinner. Lots of bass were caught but we don't count those..lol... Bait stealers.. Went out again tonight from 6 to 8 with 3 walleye and a bunch of bass..... Definitely the weather that just busted thru has turn the bite off...
Setting the alarm for 5, breakfast and hopefully walking down to the dock around 6am..

Well surprisingly everybody was up this morning but unfortunately it was p###### rain and so it changed our plans. It was also a wee bit cool at 4 degrees this morning and no one really felt like going... The rain and the cold it's not a great combination... Oh well we had a great breakfast of omelets with the works in them... Rain has eased and we are waiting till after lunch to head out fishing...

Well Dave is right. It was cold wet and windy! We could not keep the "bait stealers" off our lines and lost count. Sandy hooked into a nice 4 pounder off the dock that got her heart pumping and heated her up a bit. Both Thursday night and Saturday night caught 2 12" walleye that we allowed to grow and catch again in the future. Sunday morning we had breakfast and watched the rain fall and talked about coming home early as were ready to pack it in. We couldn't leave, bundled up and headed out to the shoal. Again hit a few smallies and decided to drift across the channel in the freezing rain as the wind was pushing us from the north. Sandy caught a 14" jiggin and I caught a 16" casting 2 nice keepers. With the weather we had, I will call that a successful weekend and will not be waiting 10 years again to visit Marten River.

Well got back Wednesday afternoon and another awesome trip up there.
Except for a couple days we managed to get out the rest of them. Not the warmest weather to fish in but you take what you get or you sit on the couch and drink+eat..lol
No big eyes this round with 21" taking big prize.. Lots of fish in the slot though. Fishing did slow after the cold front went thru so we really worked hard to get what we got... Bass on the other hand would show up everywhere we went searching for eyes.. Bass sure do like the minnows and are very hard on them but luckily there was no charge for them this trip. This year the bass were everywhere on the lake and they stole the show unfortunately.. Big strong healthy bass with 19" taking big bass.. Biggest pike was 24"...
Now we wait for May and hope for a end of October trip but the freezing rain we got has convinced the wife that her season is over..
Cheers everyone and play safe..
