Fished with a buddy on a lake in Georgian Bay area. Caught some nice crappie (with a few over 14 inches), and landed some smelts, too:-)

I only manage to find salmon on the bay. Never caught a crappie before.

That is a very nice crappie and will taste great on the plate. That should be the biggest in the derby unless DB or RM or another member catch a crappie that can rival that monster.

Well done James. Those are beautiful crappie.

I was checking another lake for Brook trout, but no luck. Yesterday on the way home checked Lake of Bays and also caught some smelt

Impressive crappies for sure! Well done. Smelt aren't much of a fighting fish but boy are they ever good. Can't wait to be able to get out on LOB myself and get some well,....any fish! Soon.

Hi Dave, I was using a tiny jighead tipped with wax worm (not real/live but some plastic or rubber ones)
