Hey guys and gals, has anyone been out on the bay recently? I'm heading up to Tama Kwa next Monday for a week on the bay. This will be my first trip to target walleyes, but I will be after some bass as well during the week. Any info on the area would be greatly appreciated.

I have been coming to Lake Nipissing all my life which is 62 years and have never been in Callander Bay so I cannot be of much help there. Grumpa's recent post has some good info in it but we are going to have a warm week so the walleye might be a little deeper.
When my wife and I fish on the lake for walleye we use jigs with a stinger hook tied onto the main hook. Helps with a light bite. My wife's go to is pink and white and I always start with a blue and white one. I change it up if they are not working but that is rare.
Lots of folks use worm harnesses.

We are seeing a few shad flies here on south bay but nothing like last year yet. I think prevailing winds have a lot to do with where the shad flies end up.

There is a bass tournament out of Bear Creek Cottages on the south shore this Sunday so it could be busier out there.

Good luck and let us know how you do.

Neil

Easy fishing right out front of your resort. bottom bouncing worm harnesses or just weighted to get them down slow troll will catch lots. Tons of smallmouth also, never really target them. You will run into pike and maybe a musky, also at some point you will think you've hooked a trophy, only to find a sheephead on the end of the line, awesome fight though. Have fun, wish I was there
