I was fishing out of Waubashene today and the whole inner part of the harbour was littered wth dead shrimp. Any idea why so many died? Is that normal?

I would love to see a pic for ID. Fresh water shrimp(scuds) are so small you would need hundreds of thousands to die to notice them at all. Must are 5mm long to 20mm long. I would guess with the timing what you saw were casts from a hatch of some type. Could be mayflies, damselflies or some other hatch.
