When I was fishing out of Collingwood yesterday, I noticed I was collecting a few water fleas on the line.

Not very many, but it looks like they are getting established there.

Sure hope it doesn't get like it can be on lake Ontario.

A week ago on Lake O I was fishing 150-200í no fleas. Went to 270-300í and couldnít troll and the lines were vibrating with fleas. The lines looked like ropes it was so bad. After 310í and deeper there were no more fleas at all. It was very strange.

Iíve seen fleas on my lines for years now out from the Parry Sound side of the bay. Some years they seem thicker than others, last trip out this year they didnít seem too thick though.

This the first time I have noticed them out of Collingwood.

I usually fish with braided line and like Disco, I've been on Lake Ontario and the line looking like a rope. that's when I switch to my reels with Flea Flicker line.

I have had them show up on our lines out of Wiarton the last couple of years. Nothing major but a few on it.

Anyone know if those fleas mark on sonar when you go through enough of them?

When I was into the mass on lake O I was marking them non stop. Looked similar to marking a thermocline which at first I thought it was until I brought up my rigger line and it was a rope.

Thanks disco, I noticed some super thick almost thermocline almost bait ball stuff the other day but not quite either, might explain what I was marking because we were getting them on our lines and riggers.
