I am going there this weekend. Mainly hanging out with the fam, but will be on the water. If I run into anything, I can let you know. I went 2 years ago for the opener and end up with 1 lake trout. The days water conditions were rough so did not make it out. Hopefully this weekend will be pretty good!

Iced fish there 28 years ago and got two nice trout over a two day and two nights period with three guys... Back then it was more about drinking and partying and the fishing came second. I look back and think we could have done much much better...
Good luck..

I fish it quite often. Usual walleye tactics work. One huge point to consider on this lake is a very pronounced evening bite. I dont bother trying for eyes before 7 pm. Im sure u can get into em otherwise but be sure to be out for the evening!!

Fished yesterday after a brutually long day in traffic.

It was extremely pleasant to be out on the lake. Conditions were perfect! Marked a lot of activity, however I came out sunked. The lake trout seemed to be running from 20 ft to 5 ft for minnows. Marked this a few times on the sonar.

Its hard when you get skunked especially since everything lined up, but hey thats fishing. On to day 2.

Day 2, got some time on the lake but no action. Too hot.

I guess its not a fishing weekend I suppose.

How did you make out?

Try the sunken island. Apparently that does well.

We did well for one day fishing.... got in late Thursday ....woke up fri to white caps on lunch ramp! Waited then the landshark lager kicked in and played washers all day..... sat was better out by 630 am.... right to sunken and ya... 39 smallies for the day .. biggest 4 lb off seagull island.
Back out at 7 pm and 4 x 17 inch Walleye in an hour.... Sunday packed up and promised ourselves to be back soon!
