nice fish. Congrats. I am curious if you feel like sharing two details... trolling or casting? and bucktail or crankbait? I do good in Pigeon in Nov trolling cranks. But I have never once fished Balsam, which I should as I have heard its has Tiger Muskies.

Great Muskie photo. You are to be commended for the care you gave that beautiful fish. It is critically important to get those big Muskies back in the water asap.
The difference between Muskies and Pike....Pike fight till they are tired, Muskies fight till they die from over exertion. A tell-tail sign of over exertion is a 'dark reddish tail'. If you see that, you need to get it in the water fast.
They are such a beautiful fish. They are very hard and fragile to raise in a hatchery, but when they grow up, look out....lol.
