Hi my friends, hope everyone is healthy and well and the fishing has been good to you all.
Every year for the past 100 years or so, I've been trying to catch a 3 pound Crappie. Lol it seems like a 100 years!.
Once again I have fallen short but certainly gave it a real college effort.I did manage to catch fifteen Crappies over 2 pounds this fall with a couple at 2.5 pounds.I did manage a personal Best 16.5 incher 2.52 pounds back in late August.
This fall has been tremendous with great weather to tackle the colorful beasts. There have been many limit out days along with many pike to add to the daily catch. After losing many Jigheads to these toothy creatures, this old fart finally decided to add a floro leader to the presentation. This 20lb floro leader material has certainly held its own, as I have landed my last 8 pike without a cut off.
A bout of covid in late October gave me a many days of self isolation on my boat fishing Crappies, screw covid!! Anyhow bye for now here are some of my Fall pix! Have a Crappie day!!
