I'm heading to Lovesick Lake in late June. Does anyone have some general locations/tips for Lovesick bass or walleye? Private message if that's best. Cheers.

May catch muskie and walleye besides dams. For bass, look for weeds. Its a small lake.
Thanks! I appreciate the tips. Are you speaking of the dam at the east end of the lake leading into Stoney? Any advice on anchoring in these dam areas, avoiding other boats, general safety, etc.? I'm not sure what to expect.

I talk about the lock between lovesick and lower buckhorn lake. I had fished there. I assume your boat has electric trolling motor. You should be OK to fish around there..

Ho did you make out on Lovesick? We're planning on checking it out tomorrow for the first time. From what I can gather there is ample bass in the weeds and rocks with chance for muskie and walleye... not sure yet what we will target. any info you can share would be appreciated.

We gave Lovesick a go on Saturday, here's our report.
As stated, lots of unmarked rocks/shallows and though it isn't huge there is a lot of fishable habitat on the lake.
Pretty quiet for boat traffic; two other boats and a couple of kayakers getting their lines wet and other the only traffic was the occasional parade of cruisers coming through the locks. Launch is easy, parking only $2 (if there is actually someone there to pay).
We expected a smally smash fest given it is in Kawarthas and the rocky habitat but we mostly caught smaller fish on topwater and higher in the column while our buddies were getting fish of better size drop shotting (is that a word?) off weed edges.
All in all between two boats we landed a variety of small and large mouth bass, perch, a muskie and a few walleye - 1 over in the high 20" range and two in the slot that made some delicious bacon-wrapped walleye bites on the grill.
Most productive zones were found using marks on navigation software. We only covered a portion of the lake and will likely give it a go again in the future.

Walleye and bacon, very nice. Sometimes I eat before sleeping, when getting back from a night of fishing. Bacon and eggs, with a walleye or a crappie. Now I am hungry. Thanks for the report.

Did you launch out of the public launch by Burleigh Falls? I remember when we launched there previously, our boat hit this large boulder right off the launch that wasn't marked. I was surprised thare was such an unmarked hazard right off the ramp

Yes, we launched at the public launch bear the lock.
There is now a big warning sign on the rock you mentioned. I thought it was a general warning of large rocks through the lake, but, no, it's one massive boulder right at the launch! I'm sure someone (or many people) have started their day off on the wrong foot thanks to that chunk of shield.
