Hello all, wvmedic from WV. Three of us will be heading to the West Arm last week of June to first week of July.

I'm looking for a couple slot measuring stickers. I've emailed the Ministry with no luck. Could someone please point me in the right direction to get a couple for my boat?

Thank you, Jeff

Canadian Tire stores in the area have had them in the past

Thank you jmah, I need a mail order though. Being in the States makes it hard to pick up a couple.

Muskyhunter, I'll be at Memiquisit. Was told that they might get some stickers. But, I'm trying to run some down just incase. train has offered to mail me a couple. Looking forward to staying at Memiquisit, I've heard good things about them. My Wife and I fished the French river for the first time ever in 2015. The last part of the week we decided to fish the west arm and docked our boat at Memiquisit. We had a good experience with that. So I'm going to stay with them this year on one of my trips North. I'll be heading to the Kipawa area three weeks after I get back from the west arm.

I found this at Canadian Tire, https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/xcalibur...77516p.html#srp

Measured to the Nippising Size and put a wrap of Duct Tape all the way around it so we can tell easily and quickly if we are good. I like the fact you can hang it to and it takes up little room in my tote. Heavy enough to chip out ice in a hole too.

Wethenorth, good idea on the duct tape. That is another option.

Thank you, Jeff

That is a really nice lodge for sure. The Wife and I often go for a boat ride for breakfast or lunch there. I have a camp about 20 min boat ride from there and love the area. Good luck and if the slot sticker doesn't pan out let me know.

We are all hoping the relax the slot size this spring. Time will tell.

Cheers.

Thank you Muskyhunter, I love the area. I've been coming to the West Arm since around 1973, it is hands down the most scenic place I've ever been. I didn't start seriously fishing till about 10 years ago. As a kid we just drifted with hook and split shot and trolled silver minnows with Uncle Joe's pork rind. That is all I knew, then I decided to start learning how to use other techniques. I'm still learning but, it's been fun.

What I did years ago was take a piece of plastic eavestrough & glue a cap on one end then take a black sharpie & mark your lengths , just butt the nose up against the end cap , flatten the tail & check it against your mark , also makes for less handling of fish & an easier release...

IFIDA, that is my plan exactly with the stickers. The stickers will make it easier for me. I got the idea from Kevin at Lakair some years ago. He used 4" PVC pipe though. I'm going to make one for Zec Kipawa as well.

Thank you, Jeff

also a 3 or 4 ft piece of abs pipe , to save u from leaning over the side of the boat when nature calls, in rough water it could keep u from falling overboard, as for the diameter of the pipe that's totally up to you....
