We were up for the opener and fished for a couple of days. Fishing was a bit slow considering it’s usually great early January/first ice. Was surprisingly quiet on the lake.

Lots of ice, 10”-12” inches with most of it black ice. People were out with their trucks on Callender Bay.

In the 2 days we managed 30ish Pickerel, 23 Perch and 4 Herring. The fishing picked up Wednesday afternoon and evening, of course as we were leaving. I think it should be great on this weekend.

Not one keeper. But we did have to get out the tape measure for 2 of them. One was 17.25” and one at 17”. May have lost a keeper at the hole but they always look bigger when they get off right at the hole and you watch them swim away! Lol!

I have some work ahead of me now!

Not too shabby Sterrr. As FatRap pointed out, some keepers have to be coming our way this year.

Nice catch, very healthy looking walleye.

What time is the fish fry

Nice little gator there too, looks like you got them on the fish Jeff
