You are a good and loving man; you were lucky to have each other. I can only imagine the loss. Thank you for sharing such an intimate time and memory.

Wow....almost missed this entry entirely.
It really had a startling impact on me. What a touching tribute.
I've been fortunate to fish with hundreds of fishermen...and lost some of my closest fishing buddies and relatives already.
But that would pale in comparison to losing my best fishing partner...my wife. We've been fishing non stop for 43 years....a loss that would be impossible for me to overcome.
Thank you wvmedic for posting what was obviously a very difficult, and likely, incredibly personal thing to share.
It's made me reconsider how truly blessed I am.
All the best Jeff.

Im sure you know this already. Id say you were a very lucky man to have shared your life with a lady like that. These memories will last forever.

God bless you and your family.
Continue to do the things you love as she watches over you, all my best.

Thank you all for the comments, I'm glad that you all have liked the post. It is an intimate glimpse into my life and it is still a daily struggle dealing with the loss of my bestfriend. I just hope by sharing that it helps people enjoy life a little more. Life really is very short and I like many others spent much time not focusing on the important things in life as much as I should have.

Thank you for sharing this with us. I can't imagine what you are going through. Make sure to hold up the big ones to the sky in the future so she gets a good look at em.
