species in nip, can you add to the list?

one of my favourite things about lake nipissing is the variety of fish, sometimes it can hold many surprises, we've all read about there being 40 different species, i'm interested to hear what other species others have found on the end of their line beyond what I have actually caught. cheers!

small mouth
largemouth
walleye
muskie
white bass
perch
burbot
rockbass
sunfish {pumpkinseed I believe}
gar
catfish {brown bullhead I believe, correct me if i'm wrong}
whitefish
freshwater drum
sturgeon {I have never caught one unfortunately but I know they're there}

I love it when I can catch something and add it to my list. its one of the reasons I fish with different baits and techniques, I have caught some small minnows before as well fishing off the dock with worms but I cant tell you their identity.

I think you nailed all of the fish found in Lake Nipissing.

I'm sure there is suckers in there and possibly some goldfish/ koi..

I thought Ling was missing but then looked up burbot and realized it’s the same thing....

Ling are somewhat different than Catfish, more the cod family I think or so i was told.
Burbot are smaller and have needle sharp spikes near its head.I didn't goggle it but have caught both in Nip

" Burbot" although i swear there is a dif. Google says their the same.
Ling get huge and I have caught burbot in Callander that were small and looked different.IMO

I think you might be thinking of the name Barbotte which is another name for a bullhead catfish whereas a burbot is another name for a ling. You are right the ling is a freshwater cod.

Caught our first White Bass while bottom bouncing for walleye. Fished the lake for years and that was the first one ever.

I thought i recalled mud puppies in nip?seem to remember one walking across the hut floor, i may be mistaken it for an erie trip, can anyone comment

Correct, and I can confirm they're in Nipissing, having caught many of them.

Don't forget rainbow smelt I caught one while ice fishing a few years back.

I think it's related to the sockeye family
