hello all, new to the forum, I have been doing research for a guys trip to Lake Nipissing targeting northern pike. Coming from Pa. and have never been to the area. Seems like most advice for large pike talks about the fall but I was looking to take a shot at spring 2021 if all travel restrictions are lifted. Would this be worthwhile given the right temp conditions and wondering what American Plan lodges are recommended. Currently looking at Chaudiere Lodge which seems to have very good reviews. Thanks for any tips!

Your destination to Chaudiere Lodge is a very good one, as the fishing is excellent.
Your timing is another story.

We all hope the travel restrictions on all international travel will be reduced or even eliminated by next summer, especially given the news reports of efficacious vaccines coming soon.

If the restriction aren't lifted or eliminated we all need to stay put, as our #1 goal / mission here is to beat this virus.

Good Luck,

Cheers,

Just to be very clear, I'm 62 years old and have no intention of violating any covid restrictions in my home state or by traveling anywhere. We are just optimistic that they might be lifted by next summer and if not will have to postpone accordingly. Just doing early research on the subject and appreciate any information.

Sorry this Covid thing has got everyone a little edgy.

I have a camp in that area and fish there lots. To be honest it is not a great Northern Pike area but they are there with a multitude of other species. Musky, walleye, Large and small mouth bass etc.

If I were you I would push back later in the season when bass and musky are open. It just opens your options and the walleye are usually better early July (1st week).
