Phil and I were on the water with lines down by 7AM.

Started out in 30fow and worked our way deeper. Didn't mark many fish, not like last Friday when fish were everywhere.

Phil picked up a nice 3.5lb laker on a spoon down 50ft in 60fow around 8AM.

Worked our way in and out as deep as 110fow and went well South down towards the bottom end of the bay. Marked a few fish here and there, mostly in 40fow to 60fow. Had a few knock offs, but no more hits.

There were 8 or so other boats out and around and we saw one of them pick up a nice salmon in 45fow.

All the fish marked last Friday were long gone, and I can only assume a major run has gone up the Nottawasaga.

We were off the water just after 1PM

Pic is Phil and his laker.

Thanks for the report..

Glad you got out there and the weather looks great!

Sorry the bulk of the salmon moved.

Still great outing and nice laker.

Surface temp was 60/61 degrees. Last Friday the surface temp was 71/72 degrees.

Strong North winds on the weekend brought the cold water down from the main part of the lake.

I noticed a change of approximately 12 degrees F in the surface temps Wednesday evening. Usually marked drops in temperatures are due to south winds blowing out our warm surface water and drawing up the cold bottom strata. An on shore north or north-west wind normally piles up the warm surface layers on the south shores of the Bay.

Yup---quite noticeable if you swim at the beach regularly as I do. It's usually either warm water and cool air, or vice versa. The change in level is quite noticeable as well.
