Welcome aboard easyrider, this may be your first ice fishing trip to Nipissing but I doubt it will be your last. What operator did you book with?

Most of these condo's come with your basis cooking and eating utensils, you can check with who you booked with to see what is going to be there.

As far as rods - I like ice fishing rods in the 24" to 28" length, light to medium action. I usually spool mine up with a light braided line. Tip ups for inside the hut and those designed for outdoor use are good. Tip ups inside work well for white fish and most operators will accomodate you with holes drilled outside your bungalow.

Jig heads (green, pink, orange) tipped with minnows work well, spoons work well, 2 way spreaders or pickeral rigs for the tip ups. Pick up some stinger hooks as sometimes the bite is really light through the ice. All operators will supply you with minnows, a battery operated air pump will help keep them alive longer.

You will probably need to bring up sleeping bags and pillows as well, check with your operator.

And beer, lots of beer and any other party favorites you might like to partake in.

Check back to some posts from last year, you will get a lot advice from these previous posts.

Hope you have a great time and let us know how you did when you get back.

Forgot to mention above, bring a battery operated AM/FM radio for tunes and Saturday night hockey game.
