I would start to be cautious around 40 feet. Definitely anything over 60 feet will probably kill the walleye

Thanks nsfisher...both from last year...fishing has been great the last few years during all seasons...based on the excellent fall walleye bite, my gut says it will be a very good hard water season as well...
One thing I will be doing more diligently this year is reeling up the walleye slowly to keep the airsack in place....caught so many 12-13 inchers last year and don't want to harm them.

Just curious what depth range do you have to be at when you should worry about the slow wind up? Have just booked my 1st trip to Nip and am really looking forward to it.

Alright Craig, time to pop your Nip ice fishing cherry

Know you will have a great time. Where and when are you going?

Feb 4 -6 with SSIC

Guideforhire.

work cheap

need only serve 2 R&c at precisley 8 pm. and coffe at 6 am

Your hired LS, lambs rum and Timmies coffee work?

Absolutely

I'd be impressed with a Timmies in th am though.ha ha ha

Looked at temps and winds for whole week upcoming and it sure looks like great ice making weather.

Only snow could ruin it

Going to practise fishing in my bungalow this afternoon.......

I have been losing sleep thinking of my trip in January. Pretty jacked. Purchased my first Vexilar. Hoping to have a successful trip in Callendar Bay.
