I know its an issue at home, I seen this in the local paper here, they are about to open a season just for cormorants in a pilot project.

I support this. It is a big problem where I live. You can't tell me this doesn't have a large affect on the local fish population. When it gets that bad it's time to cull

Some were very close to having an approved cull here also but a couple tree huggers with no idea of the problem and a bit too much political pull managed to pull the plug. I am sure Thorahguy will have some comments on this subject.
Glad to hear the US is dealing with the issue but then again they are always ahead of us in this regard.

You sum it up pretty well Craig. The only good news is we still have the approvals for a cull on some of the Thorah Island Shoreline. Almost none nested on the Island this year. The bad news is that the fall migratory population just relocated elsewhere on the Island.

Sure you have enough volunteers for a cull but if you need one more let me know. We have enough things under the water hurting the fish pop. We don't need them swooping down from the sky.
