I'm thinking about going for a ride to Lake Nipissing and try to catch some supper this weekend. Hows the fishing in Callander Bay? How deep is the water, any deep spots? thanks

I was also thinking of going up from Guelph this weekend. I would probably think of trying the south bay as its most likely frozen over already, never mind the islands that break the waves that destroy the ice. That or maybe little lake in Barrie. I know that place is rocking right now. But you mainly get 3 lb pike only. Either way, let me know what you hear is safe

szabi.....Read the Simcoe Forum Last Sunday a guy was fishing on Little Lake on 9 inches of ice. Walking in he hit a thin spot and went for a swim....he was okay!!! Still a little early for safe ice in a lot of spots right now. Patience Please.....Let Mother Nature Do Her Work.

Had no idea nip was closed. Thought it was for hut operators only, but as always, thanks for the info guys. Is anyone fishing nosbonsing? I had a buddy that went out on the lake yesterday and he said the ice was in good shape.... And it will be just fine for Saturday given the forecast stays on our side.

I've heard of no such report for Little Lake, and I've been out there a couple times this year. That might be last year you heard about. As a general rule most people stay clear from the silver creek mouth in the north east corner of the lake. Best ice and fishing tends to be just off the trailer park and out in the middle of the lake.
