Stay off the ice at conservation areas

Winter weather may be here, but it's still too soon to venture onto the ice at GRCA Parks.

GRCA staff monitor ice thickness as three parks that offer ice fishing: Belwood Lake, Shade's Mills and Pinehurst. But there isn't enough ice yet to open to the public.

At other GRCA Parks, the ice thickness is not monitored and anyone venturing onto the ice is taking a significant risk, since there may not be help available should someone run into trouble.
