A little Elf told me Santa is getting me a Marcum VX1 Pro for Xmas! Anyone own one? Any reviews? Going Ice Fishing on the Nip next month and figure the Walleye don't stand a chance now!

The vx1 is a great little unit well worth the money... 3 color
Sonar.. Can't go wrong with this unit as a starter!! The nice thing about Marcum is the interference... You barely get any!! You will enjoy and good luck this season!

Personally i picked up an LX-5 last year and love the unit, amazing true color and detail.

Having said that, i bought the VX-1Pro for my brother on his dirty 30th birthday and had a chance to use it this weekend when we were out on the ice. It is a very nice unit to fish with, good detail for the price and does the job.

Only negative comment is that it does not come with the snowshield protector which is (~$25) bought separetaly.

LX-3 is $100 more than the VX-1, but it comes with the snowshield protector and has the infitinte adjust zoom, as well as true color display and increased target separation of 1" as opposed the VX-1 which is 2".

Both the Vex and the Marcum have interference buttons. I've never had an issue with my buddy.
Cheers!

vex and marcum play well together, they both have interference rejection adjustment if needed, as FF said. The only thing to remember is only one guy needs to adjust the IR if necessary, not both
