Hi, I have a hut booked for Dec 31 Jan 1. I have never fished Nipissing before so I am pretty stoked for the trip Grin. I have my fingers crossed there will be lots of ice by then. I was wondering if there was a local who would be kind enough to post the occasional ice report. It would be greatly appreciated.

Really? I was fishing a lake near Parry sound yesterday and we had to break threw 1" of ice!
You can always check for ice formation, but obviously not thickness, on the MODIS Images. Nip can usually be found in the top right corner of the Lake Huron Image. Currently it is pretty much ice free. Sorry, I can't post a link. They have a two visits per day limit and I've had my two. You can try to navigate to it from the Satellite Images found under Lake Info on the Lake Simcoe Forum.
