With all the great advice I received we were able to book with South River Resort. At first we were unable to get in however with a last min cancellation we were able work things out. Steve worked with the numbers of guys I had for the trip and he made the trip work out for us.
Steve meet us on time at the pickup spot. Loaded us up and got us out to our bungalow. After he explained how everything worked inside and made sure the fire and co detectors worked he helped us load everything in the bungalow.
I was asking about the area because we did bring a pop up and I figured I would like to fish out side to explore. He got out his gps and actually walked me around to different spots. Showing me were X marked the spot. Due to the record breaking temps we did not leave the bungalow. Hard to leave a spot so nice and warm.
Fishing was great catching many walleye/perch one pike 28 " one ling 32"
Steve stopped in asking how the fishing was going. We told him got a couple he then showed us what was working for him and the technique he was using.
We were supplied lots of minnows and he stopped in making sure we had what we needed.
We had a great time on Nip this being my second trip it was a blast and will be back next year
Strik
Thanks to everyone who answered my questions on different operators.

I have been to South River once last year, and I am booked again at the end of feb. This outfitter is nothing but top notch. Steve checks in on a regular basics and puts the huts on fish. We had a blast there and will continue to go back. Any other questions about south river just ask.

Sounds like you had a blast. I will be staying up with the same outfitter this weekend and will report back. Ice conditions will be brutal for travel Saturday but I'm sure the service will be top notch. Thanks for the report.

Steve and Pam are top class. Last year they even arranged to set us up at another outfitter when it wasn't safe to put the huts out early in the season. Will be back with South River Jan 17th
