QUOTE (nsfisher @ Feb 24, 2014 - 07:13 pm)
Hey Jerry, some nice fish!
My 1st time targeting crappie was with Mark and it took me a while to get a hook into one. Finesse is definitely required and I found my electronics to be invaluable. Seeing the reaction of the fish to different jigging techniques and then timing a very light bite. I was almost setting the hook anticipating a strike based on what I was seeing more than feeling the actual bite.

Yes panfishers use your type of flashers to see what the fish are doing real time, anticipating the bite etc. For the most part they are light biters, but that big one, hit hard and almost took the rod out of my hands. In April we'll take the boat out and see if we can get into a bunch of them.

I'd be down for that too Jerry.
Hell, we can even use my boat.
Man, I'm missing the boat even though I look at her every day in the garage.
Cheers!

Ok Mark, I will let you know.

Last year I went out for crappie too late, sometime in May and only managed a dozen. We'll see if we can time it right this year.

Yes, I miss my boat as well, can cover more water and sure beats staring down a hole freezing your butt off.. LOL
