thanks for the pics. really hope things start melting like they have in SW Ontario soon. Myself and 8 friends head up for walleye opener every yr on nipissing. this will be our 9th year in a row, Hut owners will be losing out on some good money if the ice isn't off by opener. which is unfortunate. really look fwd to it as we have a blast, fingers crossed that it melts in the next 7 weeks.

The creeks are doing their best to try and feed warmer water into the lake. I will try and snap some pics today for you dan66. I have a feeling walleye opener will be touch and go. Last year, the lake was full of debris and huge logs floating around so if things do open up in a hurry, have a sharp eye out. Day enders floating around all over the place!
Weather over the next few days/weeks is supposed to be 7 to 10 degrees....this will help. Creeks are flowing pretty high. Snow is melting fast in the city and in the bush (which all drain into the creeks and rivers flowing into Nip).
Stay tuned for some pics of the lake for a snapshot of how things look today.

Thanks Skramo, great pictures. However, as a open water fisherman, primarily.............not sure whether I should start crying or not. Doesn't look like an imminent break up.....anytime soon.
