Have been hitting scugog fairly often the past few weeks with pretty good results. Went up again for first light this morning just on my own. The last time i was out with the family the bite was pretty bad so i wanted to keep it pretty mobile today to find the fish as it seems the crappie have moved from where they last were for me. After a bit of drilling i found a nice weedbed and got setup.

Crappie weren't there but i didn't want to move as i had a really nice bluegill bite going. Bluegills and pumkinseed bite stayed strong till i packed it up around 9. Only got bothered by 3 dinky perch towards the end and they weren't the bother they were last time i was out.

Thanks for the report. Too bad the crappie were not co-operating. Wind was brutal today.

We headed to St. John and got a feed of some crappie. I'll put up a post tomorrow.

I hear you, love the fight of a big sunfish on the right gear. My rod was a full C for some of the bigger ones, it was like my noodle rod when steelheading just scaled down by a factor of ten! If i had wanted a bunch of eaters i would of moved to find the crappie, but i didnt feel like keeping any so those sunfish kept me happy.

Looking forward to reading your st.john report Nicole. The wind was a killer. Today is supposed to be even worse which is why i headed out yesterday early. Wind only really picked up in the last half hour i was out, but back home i noticed it stayed around all day. Instead of fishing today i am breaking out the smoker and cooking up some beef ribs while i make up some turkey kielbasa and loose italian sausage, yum!
