Hi Guys,

This is my first time posting on this forum but I've been following it every day since the beginning of ice season. It's a great forum, lots of helpful info to be found, that's for sure! I know it's a little off topic but I'm wondering if anyone here has fished Stoney Lake? I booked a cottage there for this summer. It was the only decent looking one I could find at this time of the year (didn't know I was already late with that ) So far I've heard of the good bass and walleye fishing. I've also heard of whitefish in that lake as well... Anyways, does anyone have any information on that lake?

Thanks,

Yeah you can catch them, try out off of mccrackens point. they are not as big as the ones in simcoe though, at least none of the ones I have seen.

Interestingly enough the world record whitefish, all line class was held in Clear Lake for a few years. Clear Lake is separated from Stony by a narrow channel. I have caught a good many on small 1" Williams wobblers from Burleigh Falls, where it runs into Stony. Silver being the best choice.

Island view is on Clear Lake, still a good lake, big 'lunge, and good bass. Mostly smallmouth at that end, get up to where Stony connects to get in to good walleye. Around Church on the Rock is a good area, and starting into largemouth. Also a good panfish population. Good perch, and crappy.
