Yesterday driving back from Peterborough stopped in Bewdley. Was amazed to see ice still covering Rice Lake.

At shore was mostly open. Some people fishing a few places. They couldn't cast out far. Did not see any fish caught.

I was out for a crappie fish on the North Shore on Friday. Not a single bite with the water only being 42 degrees and not a single weed growing yet.

Does anyone have recent pics of the ice still to break in Rice or Bewdley? Would be greatly appreciated.

According to local radio, the lower Trent, including Rice wont even crest till late this week.

The lower Trent is a bloody mess.

You can thank the powers that be for not lowering this section as they usually do to prevent this kind of nonsense from happening.

Oh, but Kathleen Wynn will be coming to the area tomorrow to inspect all the flood damage and hardship folks are facing.

That'll make it all better.

This July will be my twenty sixth year going up to rice we stay in roseneath at a resort, just wondering about the past winter and what impact the cold temps a duration will have. We go last week of July so by that time the fish can make you work for them with the water being so warm, any input would be greatly appreciated thx guys can't wait to get up there
