hey all,

I have a 14" sportspal canoe Id like to use for fishing smaller/quieter lakes.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with attaching trolling motors to canoes. If so, what was your setup(battery/thrust amount)?

also, if anyone has any links, pics, or advice Id love to hear it!!

Cheers

LN Islander...If your canoe isn't a square back canoe then you can get
a bracket like this one to mount to your canoe.
You'll need a Deep Cycle Marine Battery....Gel Battery's are good they can
be put in any position even upside down.
I used a Minn Kota Stern Mounted Trolling Motor which was 46 lbs Thrust and
I had more then enough thrust......Good on windy days.

Sportspal has started selling the motor mounts specifically built for their canoes...good to know of alternatives though.
I planned on using a 40 lb thrust, just wasn't sure what deep cycle battery would get me runnin the lake all day...
